WHOSE DAUGHTER ARE YOU AGAIN?

assalamualaikum and whaddup!

visited my paternal grandma after Asar prayer. every time we came to visit, she'll always ask;

"anak sapa tok?" (whose daughter is this?)

i'll smile and answer:

"anak amid, nek.." (amid's daughter..)

it happens everytime.

KK VACAY - KUNDASANG!

DAY 2 - January 22, 2013

assalamualaikum and whaddup!

gotta wake up extra early because uncle joe had to catch the traffic rush to his office.
we followed him there because we promised to meet at 7am for our trip to kundasang!

yyyeeepp.. 7 am lah sangattt.. they arrived around 9.30 am.
so uncle joe brought us to the nearby cafe for breakfast. we ordered baked beans an egg!
my favorito!
despite the american breakfast we had, check this out:

the new american way to spell service i guess

the scenery along the way to kundasang was superb!
can't capture much on my crappy phone though. but roza's new htc phone ada banyak!
heheh..
and also sofia's dslr.

it's the peak of the highest mountain in southeast asia!

camwhoring in the car is a must!
we didnt use the car aircond because they have aircond outside! it was sooooooo cold that i actually shivered. fresh air i tell you! until a truck passed by. =='

our first stop was the kinabalu park to see a clearer view of the kinabalu peak. roza said that this is the point where all the hikers start hiking up the mountain.

the peak shy shy cat pulak...
next stop: strawberry garden! the entrance was only RM1.
unfortunately there were no strawberries. we entered just because roza told me there were flowers inside.
 orchids specifically.
and i get super excited and agreed to go inside.
to find out there were no orchids. =='

imagine this with red ripe strawberries....

from the strawberry garden, we went to the war memorial park.
well its a memorial park so lotsa memorial stuff? i just knew that sabah was once dijajah by australian.
i didnt really take much photos with my phone there because sofia, my roomate while i was in labuan brought her dslr so most of the photos are still with her.

im not sure what it means but i think it's kinda deep..

layan jadi minah ostolia kejap xsalah nak? ahaks!

view of Kundasang from a balcony at the park

oh ya.. as we arrive at the memorial park, there were one group of good looking guys. they were saying "KL" when we passed by.
im not sure whether they thought we were from KL or they were trying to tell us they're from KL because they have the KL slang.

from the memorial park we went to Desa Cattle where we met Ann, also my roomate in labuan. memang janji nak jumpa cos she lives in Ranau which is not so far away from kundasang.

moo!

baa!
we were super hungry so we went to meet Eric, Ann's friend and also Kele, my negihbour back in labuan.

after the superb lunch, we proceeded to Tagal Luanti.
it's one of the main attraction in Ranau.
a must-go-place if you come to Ranau.
Sofia told me that we were going for a fish massage.
but she forgot to tell me the size of the fish that's gonna "massage" us.
it's as big as my arm i tell you!
i didn't dare to get in.
no.
NEVER.

then we went to Sabah Tea plantation. that's where they plant, and process the tasty Sabah Tea. duh~

and then we were hungry again and we went to Mama Cafe for an early dinner.
Eric and Kele created a new religion where they recited their prayer (before meal) by snapping photos of the food.
hahah!
Eric made me think of the people in Africa who can't afford to buy food because i didn't finish mine.
sorry but i was just too full.

we hung out for a while before leaving to our lodge house we rented earlier. it was located a few steps away from Poring Hot Spring.

we slept very early that night because we were very tired from the long day we had earlier. you know what, we didn't need to switch on the fan or aircond because the fresh air outside cools the room entirely.

phew! what a long day.. looking forward for the next day!

KK VACAY - HELLO!

DAY 1 - January 21, 2013

assalamualaikum and whaddup!
munirah had this free ticket from her dad to Kota Kinabalu so she ajak me and parina to tag along.
but of course it's only free for munirah.
so parina and i had to pay for our own ticket.
my mama was ok with it but not parina's dad.
roza who is already in KK for she studies there didnt know i was coming so it's  gonna be a surprise for her.
teehee!

uncle joe (muni's dad) fetched us from the airport.
we stopped by the house to unpack some stuff to be packed again for the activity roza had planned. banana boat ride kata nyaa..
we promised to meet at uncle joe's office because it's weekdays and in case of the traffic jam. plus they said it's nearer.

some scenery i managed to catch on our way to uncle joe's office

there was some small party at uncle joe's office so we tumpang makan while waiting for roza and sofia. janji melayu biasalaahh..
uncle joe has some cute young officers working under him. they kept calling uncle joe "bapak".
i dont really understand what happened until munirah told me that they were actually flirting with us.
ohhhhh...

i just love the look on roza's face when she saw me. heheh.. surprise! sik smepat nak ambik gambar muka nyaa.. but....

surprise roza - check!

after stopping by roza's rental house for zuhur jamak asar, of we go to karambunai!
remember plan A was to go for banana boat ride? yeah..sik jadi. because it was too expensive. i dont really mind paying RM40 for the ride.
but the problem was everybody else haven't withdraw money so i had to pay for everyone first.
i aint got enough money to pay RM40 x 5 + entrance fee
so we went kayaking instead which is only RM15 for a double-sitter boat not including the entrance fee.
but the kakak at the counter gave us discounts which we only have to pay RM16 including the entrance fee ....
i dont know maybe we were friendly?
heheh

all geared up and excited!
sejam berjemur di pantai, off we go to the floating mosque for a pedal-boat ride! we pedaled until the traffic is clear. it was 4 pm and people were all rushing to go home.

the "floating" mosque
roza thought of bringing us to the aquarium in UMS but it was closed so we ronda-ronda in UMS.
UMS is HUGGGGEEEE!! VERY HUUUUUUGGGGE!
despite the HUGE compound, the buildings are HUGE  too!
all the buildings are pink which makes it so cute.
hahah..
they have their own research institute and what not.
if UNIMAS has a lake for recreation, UMS has it's own beach!

check out!

we managed to cathc the sunset!

Subhanallah! (not bad for a blackberry phone camera)

we were super hungry after the sunset so we went to 1Borneo Hypermall for dinner before movie.

muni sorang jak dah mnunjukkan how lapar we were.. heheh..

while waiting for the movie at 9.25 pm, i managed to grab a pair of pants, a pair of flats and a blouse. obviously shopping like that memang sik puas lah. grrrrr...

oh.. guess what movie we watched? MAMA. which i watched it already the day before with laila and awang  (yes i was the 3rd wheel). i cried for the second time watching it because the ending was very touching. sobss.. :'(

we arrived home around midnight and poor uncle joe had to wait for us to open the door because we aint got no key. sorry uncle joe..

it was a long loooong day.. prayed, pulled over the blanket and good nite!

DELAYED STORY: BETONG (day 2 & 3)

COCK-A-DOODLE-DOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

woke up at 5 am thanks to Mr Rooster. i wasnt very sure of the prayer time in betong. i forgot to ask mak bu.......

"ALLAHU AKBAR, ALLAHU AKBAR!"

i was told that the surau is just one house away. so yeah.. i could hear Azan loud and clear. Hani is still sound asleep so i go ahead and refresh myself to perform Subuh and maybe help Mak with the breakfast. i didn't know what time Mak woke up but as i came down to shower, she was already in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. she was only preparing drinks 'cos she said we'll have breakfast in town.

we (my family angkat and i) aint got no cars but we have 2 motorcycles. there's bapak, mak, kak siti, kak mai, adha, me and hani. guess how do we get to places?? yepp.. send one person, then fetch another at home. jangan sik ngencerik idup susah... it was a fun exeperience!

so we had to be at the school by 8 am for the program. we started off by warming up with some cute xi shua shua dance and some spanish dance.

so we played some games with the Betong kids. oh! i met joe's younger brother. kak mai said he's a little bit different from the other kids. through my observation, he's just hyperactive. he won the musical chair twice! hahah..

that nite after performing zapin johor for the closing ceremony, we went to rumah pengantin for what we sarawakian called it as "berlulut" where the bride took photos in different traditional costumes. hey, did i tell you that the bride is joe's classmate and also his sister-in-law? yes. we went to joe's elder brother's wedding.  sik cukup berzapin di dewan sekolah for closing ceremony, we were asked to berzapin d rumah pengantin. ko pahammm?? yahhhh...

but let me tell you something, the best thing about kampung weddings is that the togetherness among the villagers. the celebration was a lot different from the one i've been to. meriah with the bergendang and bertandak and everything. dont really know how to put em into words. u have to be there to experience everything.

we went back to unimas on the next day. the trip was short but the most meaningful experience ever! i gained a lot from the trip. it's been like 2 months and i miss betong so much. i'll definitely go there again someday. :)

the boy in red is joe's younger brother. hey, i look like one of em! ahaks!
meet pija! very quiet and adorable

the bride. she's my age
the bride and groom diarak on this high chair which has "just married" written at the back

heheh.. yes. maok jwak merasa duduk sia.
btw, i didnt know sharul and ijat standing behind us until i saw this photo

p/s: will update bout my family angkat in a different post. toodles!

SCHOOL TOOL FOOL DROOL WOOL COOL POOL and everything that rhymes...

assalamualaikum and whaddup 2013!

it's the first week of school and that means it's time for me to DO my cousin's homework.
YES. DO.
well not that i'm the one writing the answers and all. but the fact that i'm the one who have to think of the answers is sill considered as DOING the homework for them right?

kids nowadays. waiting to be fed instead of feeding themselves.

hey,
back in my time, i did ALL  of my homeworks ON M OWN.. finished them all and let mama check the answers for me. if there're mistakes, i find the solutions ON MY OWN. i dont remember relying on people for answers. could say that i was kinda independent back then. and still am NOW! doing my assignments without relying on other people in my group cos that's how i roll and again, not complaining. :)

oh!
except for my physics homework back when i was 16 where i copied my classmates homework cos i didnt understand a single thing that my teacher had taught. heheh.. but that's a different case.. well maybe some other more homework back in high school that i copied from my friends and again, it's a different situation 'cause when u're a teenager, u have that extra lazy hormones in you.. heheh

oh! and that time when i was too lazy to do my homework and i just didnt do it and just waited for the answers from my teacher. hahah!

ok fine im as lazy as kids nowadays. or maybe i am one of the kids nowadays.. hmmmm...

ok then toodles!
