R-E-S-E-R-V-E-D

i'm dedicating my 200th post to whoever that wishes to have a job that involves human interaction.
i.e: waiter/waitress

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EXCELLENT INTERPERSONAL SKILL.
2 simple rules:
SMILE.
and
MIND YOUR MANNERS.

**at a local well-established restaurant, in a local shopping mall in a place like no others.**

"hi.. can we make a reservation for 4?"
"i will not guarantee that you'll have that table because people usually come in and they might randomly sit at your place."

cant you see missy?
that's the point of reserving. so that nobody comes in and sit at your table.
it is R-E-S-E-R-V-E-D

but whatever...
we went to search for some place else.
but somehow we ended up at that restaurant.
guess what we saw?

almost at all the tables..
what happen to the "no reservation" policy?
pffffffttttttt

whatever..
so you dont want to reserve a table for us.
fine.
tapi sik perlu lah nak sindir2 nak?
sik pelu lah nk narit sora bila your customer mintak serve the food aher sikit.
sik pelu nak polah muka bah.
sik pelu dik, sik perlu.
we paid RM9 for the service charge.
we came to enjoy our iftar.
and thank you for spoiling it.

oh!
i know its not quite a big deal but its kinda is for me.
coasters.
they did not put our drinks on coasters.
NO. COASTERS.
=.=''

we were looking forward to fill in the customer service feedback form.
and probably talk to the manager.
then particular waitress tripped  and fell off.
its kinda funny but its rude to laugh.
so we just smiled.

gosh~~
another day to be remembered.
another story to be told to my descendants.

Assalamualaikum!
and Salam Ramadhan!

IF ONLY MARRYING A PAIR OF PANTS IS LEGAL

J m'appelle Jung Jihyun.
J'ai trente-huit (38) ans.
J'habite a Seoul en Coree du Sud
Je parle corien, anglais et francais.
Je suis libre penseur.
Je suis marie mais je n'ai pas d'enfants.
Ma femme est femme au foyer.

this was my new identity for my French Assessment this morning.
im 38 years old and married but we dont have kids.
i am from Seoul and i speak korean, english and french.
i am a free thinker.

i forgot what "free thinker" in french is so i went with Atheist. LOL

oh yes. i forgot to tell you guys that i'm taking french lesson during my Summer Semester.
soooooo...
im taking french lesson during my Summer Semester!

the assessment finished at 10.45 am.
and i had to fetch nek ni from dialysis at 11.45.
so i headed to The Spring to kill time and bought myself 2 pairs of Giordano pants.
no pants fits me as well as the pants from Giordano.
i am so in love with them right now.
and if marrying pants is legal,
you are all invited to my wedding tomorrow!

you know,
when i shop for clothes,
i look for comfort,
and it HAS to fit me well,
not to tight nor to loose.
because i have big thighs and forearms.
and of course the colours and design also matters.
hey! would you walk around town in torn and faded clothes?
i know i won't.
as long as they are affordable, im in.

this seems to apply in choosing your life partner.
you would wanna find someone that you are comfortable with,
that could accept you as you are,
that fits you like how Giordano pants fit me well.
dont lie to yourself,
it's everyone's dream to have good looking partners.
but please be realistic.
if the partner is beyond reach, forget about him (or her).
or you could try.
your choice.
in point of fact,
Allah has arranged the best for you.

Taylor Lautner is my fantasy.
he is like the designer jeans which are not on sale.

im just looking for my pair of Giordano pants
 on sale.

Giordano pants, will you marry me?

DIARY OF AN IM4U VOLUNTEER: KOTA SAMRAHAN (THE CARNIVAL)

and so we've reach our final destination..
here we focus more on our carnival which was held at the new Summer Shopping Mall.
at first the carnival was supposed to be held at the empty lot in front of KFC somewhere in Desa Ilmu.
but then since it was The Summer grand opening, so we collaborated with them
and we had our carnival.

lets pose for the camera before we set up the place!
from left: am (who happened to be my junior back in high school),
me, cecilia, diana, pat, daus, din and safar, the one who's not standing.
credits to zun for the photo!

the guys had to hold on to the tent since it was raining heavily + strong wind +
thunder + lightning

it was a two-day carnival.
besides our own activities,
we volunteered to help the mall for their event.
i volunteered ad the pet show booth.
more like a dog show because that's all there is.
no cats or whatsoever.
whatever i love dogs!

we did the xi shua shua dance early in the morning before the grand opening

lion dance for the grand opening ceremony!
and there were fire crackers too!

mira and photo-board for "my pet and i" photo contest

a puppy dashund to be sold. this little fellow was so scared when he sees a lot of people.
people had to clean his cage all the time.

toy poodle. someone actually bought him.

i dont remember what kinda dog this is... but who's the cute doggy??
who's the cute doggy???
i just knew that great dane can grow as tall as 8 feet when it stands! oh, he looks sad because he is.
he knows he's gonna be sold, he laid there all day.. poor thing..

we had final karaoke competition that night at the mall.
once again,
the secretariats agreed that i'll be the emcee.
i seriously need to get an agent for my well-developing career.
who knows you people might see me on TV for some award!
KANNNN???

oh! thank you Syaza, Nini and Eja for coming to see me talk crap on stage!

meet my partner, Amy.

Day Two of the carnival,
i thought i could enjoy myself.
but no.
shahiman came to me and asked whether i could help him for the Spell-it-Right Challenge.
of course i said yes even though my job is to keep track of the time.
Ping! Ping! "Your time is up..."

the management decided to open up the challenge to us college students.
and Salam made me join it.
=.='

so i took the challenge but i lost.
the participants from Institute Perguruan won,
both first and second place.
hey! who dare to beat the teachers??
and plus, the moderators gave me difficult words to spell.
=.='

"lets give fatin the hardest word to spell.."

later at noon,
i had to prepare for that night's concert.
YES.
the secretariats agreed that I once again be the emcee.
with Khang.
we were told that it's going to be informal.
im ok with it.
but last minute changes,
it was a semiformal event.
AND. I. FREAKED. OUT.

Khang and I busy preparing our text.
i would like to thank madam for helping us preparing the text on the very last minute.

but it turned out GREAT!
the performances were awesome!
i could help myself to dance and sing along..
heheh...
thank you for giving me the opportunity.
I HAD A WHALE OF A TIME!

Saufi with his Sape opening act.. HE IS GREAT!

some of the dance performance by Jabatan Kesenian dan Kebudayaan Negara

mini concert by Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia which i screamed to sing along. heheh

and the finale!

after packing up everything,
we went back to UNIMAS for a goodbye.
we had a mini lucky draw
and i was never lucky.
i wanted the cake mixer so badly!
and the toaster!
and the BBQ coupons at Riverside Majestic Hotel!
and the tablet!
oh well...
better luck next time.....

mr hafiz was holding on to heikal's ticket on his lap and it was a winning ticket!
so then we claimed that his thigh was lucky so we put our tickets there.
nope.
no luck.

i wish i could have just took that mixer home. grrrrrrr

the friendship we had was beyond description.
it has been 3 weeks but we still have that connection.
hope to see everyone again for the second series..

xoxo

DIARY OF AN IM4U VOLUNTEER: ASAJAYA

aaaaaaah~
good night sleep...
wakey wakey ready for the big day!
our trip to asajaya is a special one because it was recorded by the RTM!
like the whole day.
they recorded it.
expected to be on air this month, on Sitok Kamek,
airing every saturday at 6.30 pm on astro tvi.
check us out!

we went to SK Asajaya Ulu.
there are others who went to SMK Asajaya.

we played a lot of games and not to forget the volcano model!
kids dig this kinda stuff..
compare to our Serian trip,
this is far more organised because we already knew what to do.

this is abang hipni from RTM
the kids listen attentively to what abang hipni has to say

dont you just miss wearing this uniform and be all innocent?

presenting prizes to the winners. yes yes i know. he's taller..
=='

then we proceeded with our usual event with the locals at the indoor stadium:
sukaneka and karaoke.
i was asked to be the emcee for the karaoke again.
what can i say, career's going pretty well..
waiting for my cue to go on stage.. please do not question the green over pink..
we were not told that we're gonna get a new tshirt.
i happened to wear my pink tshirt
so i just pull it over my pink tshirt.

we watched the Jabatan Kesenian dan Kebudayaan Negara rehearsed their number after the karaoke.
then the electricity went out.
so we were just sitting there waiting.

we went to a mosques in Asajaya which has superb architecture for Maghrib prayers.
unfortunately there were no electricity so we had to pray in the dark.
when we returned to the stadium, everyone was packing up.
it was dark and the wind was strong.
we were told that the blackout affected the whole Sarawak.

so we went back to UNIMAS....
and Alhamdulillah early sleep...

ready for the final destination??

DIARY OF AN IM4U VOLUNTEER: SERIAN

we went straight to Serian right after the community service in Simunjan
i slept through the whole journey because the road was bumpy and i was all dizzy

we started with karaoke that evening,
and some of us went to the stadium by the famous Serian Lake for a telematch.
there were 'cari gula dalam tepung' and tug-o-war!
i didnt wanna play at first because it involves flour, and i brought very limited clothes.
but then they need more players so i dragged zafirah.
we only managed to get 2 sweets (one each) because we tak larat.
tak larat because we had to "wheel-barrow" ourselves to the plate!
sakit otot-ototku semua menampung berat badan pada kedua tanganku.
sobsss..
zafirah's turn to wheel-barrow me.
i stopped many times because my arms hurt so bad.
TUG-O-WAR! nampak sik betapa tuija nya saya?

we went to Masjid Serian for Maghrib prayers and ceramah.
we even cleaned ourselves there.
i adore the architecture of Masjid Serian.
SUBHANALLAH..

Masjid Serian. if you zoom in, you can see my sleepy face.
they have a lot of my tired + sleepy face

wondering where we're gonna crash that night?
to that point, i didnt really care where we were about to crash.
i was sooooooo tired..
turned out we had pretty nice chalets awaiting for us at Ranchan!
because there 100++ of us, we had to squeeze ourselves in the chalet.

the next day,
we went to the mini stadium again for our morning routine.
then off we went to SK Serian.
at first we were told that we're gonna deal with special kids (ADHD, dyslexia etc.)
i looked forward.
turned out, we, Bus C members were playing with normal kids.
oh well.
so the Academic Unit (me) + Insaniah Unit (Heikal) + Sahsiah Unit (Ryzal) combined our activities for the children.

the special kids handled by the other crew..

attempt of doing chicken dance while sitting down.
this was before the kids came therefore the empty dance floor

it was hard at first, but then me being the loyar buruk type, managed to control the kids.
who ever thought that a person who find kids are annoying, are loved by them?
*flipstudung*

"ari tok kita nak polah gunung berapi!"
"volcano!"
"yes! volcano..! sapa ya tek?"
*puts up his hand*
"pande eh... 16A upsr kitak kelak.."

******

"kita nak polah volcano tok meletus!"
"lava!"
"aokkk.. lava is apa yang keluar dari volcano.. pande eh..!"

i asked them to creatively design their volcano..

"waaaaaaaa..."

aaaaaaaaand everyone gets excited to watch..

Group photo! these were the only who are left
after each of the classes leave the room for their next class.

we had some photo session later and there's this kid who didn't wanna let go of my hand.
she said she wanted to sit beside me.
she hugged me before we went back.
awwwww.... :')

"kak, lekak kitak abis belajar jadi cikgu ok? ajar sekolah kamek.."

Bigger Group Photo! that kid held my hand throughout the session

this is from my personal collection

then we went to the mosque for zohor prayers
and back to the mini stadium for lunch,
and more sukaneka.

i dont remember what this game was called but my cousins and i used to call it main boyak..
it's like and obstacle race where you had to pass all the "gatekeepers" to get to the other side
and back to the start.

asz fooling around with phylis

we went back to UNIMAS after Maghrib prayers...

DIARY OF AN IM4U VOLUNTEER: SIMUNJAN

woke up at 4 a.m because we had to meet up at 6.
note that i slept at 12.30 am, preparing stuff for the trip.

so then after the pelancaran, off we went to SIMUNJAN!
the convoy of 5 buses and i-dont-know-how-many sponsored cars were lead by polices.
YEPPP..
sakai sebentar pada hari tersebut ok.

arrived at Simunjan 2 hours later.
had lunch at the gerai before our second pelancaran at the MP Hall.
the locals are very welcoming.
they were like,

"cikgu duduk sitok cikgu..!"

and cleaned the table for us.
cikgu pun boleh laa..
oh and there's this pakcik coming to us
and started to berpantun.
as in REAL pantun.
we seriously dont know how to respond because we were very hungry so we just smiled.

we were told that the water supply would not be available from 11pm to 5am.
so we had to conserve the water supply.
one thing popped into my head:

SIK MANDIK.

imagine a hall of 100++ people
and a small washroom.
memang sik cukup lah nak..

but lucky me to have a classmate who lives in Simunjan!
heheh..
so we tumpang mandi at her place.

THANK YOU NANA!
beautiful house, beautiful family.
Nana's grandma is very friendly.
she greeted me with a gossip!
hahah..

for the record, Nana and i never actually speak in class,
but we know each other's existence.
but hey, we are now closer than ever!

oh!
i made my debut as an emcee that night.
i am more of doing Cici a favor because she was looking for an emcee for her event that night
and i happened to be someone who talks a lot and i was around and i was being  a friend and
I AM A VOLUNTEER.
so yeah.
couldnt say no.

the highlight of the night was this Hajah falling off the stage while performing the karaoke version of Madah Berhelah.
i swear every jaw in the hall weere dropped.
despite the fall, she continued singing the finale.
did i tell you a plant pot was broken?
mmm-hmmm..
i wanted to show it up close but this is the only one available.
watch it here

we thought that the secretariats were fooling around that we're all sleeping in the hall.
they were not.
we build a barrier of stacked chairs to divide the guys and us girls.
there is seriously nothing to complain about.
it's part of the experience.

the next morning, we were supposed to go to Gunung Ngeli Primary School.
but somehow there were some miscommunication so we did some community service instead.
we cleaned the Graveyard and the surau and was rewarded with some snacks by the villagers.
Alhamdulillah~

later at noon,
off we went to our next destination:
SERIAN
preparing for the trip. guess what we're doing?
TADAA! a volcano model made of clay!
see that dead dino?
i made that!

waiting for lunch.....
ko hadaa???
kumang keling + karaoke

community service

thank you makcik for the snacks!

that's pretty much we had in SIMUNJAN

SEE YOU IN SERIAN!

P IS FOR............

guess who just renewed her license today?
here's a hint...

*pointing finger at self*

*giggles*

heaven yes it's me!

i,

Dayang Nurfatin Farzana binti Awang Hamid,

am no longer a driver under probation!

or as most Malaysian knows it as the LESEN P.
or as i call it, lesen PALOI.

I AM NOW.....
A COMPETENT DRIVER!

i almost thought i couldnt make it!
i even dreamed about it you know...

************************
there was a road block,
and the officer gantung my license because i didn't put my 'Paloi' sticker on.
and i begged the officer not to because my P license is almost expired and i dont wanna risk  it.
i even bribed him. LOL!

then he kesian with me so he decided to give me a test in which if i pass, i get my license back.

****THE END****

even though my license is not 'Paloi' anymore, i'm still a noob.

ASSALAMUALAIKUM!
SALAM RAMADHAN AND HAPPY FASTING PEOPLE!

P/S: im still working on my im4u volunteer diary. collecting photos from people.

NEW

afternoon nap was never my thing. but this week, it's like a routine.

why?

i guess im still tired from last week's volunteering program.
dont get me wrong. im not complaining.
as tired as i was/am, i enjoyed every second of it.
the new friends,
the new places i've never been to,
the new experience,
the new mall,
everything was A-W-E-S-O-M-E

AWESOME!

will update on it later because that 7 days are not compressable (this word is not in the english dictionary) into one post.

soooooooo..

stay tuned!

a tout-a-lheure!
